I know this is very controversial.. but I want people reading to take this into consideration. I was 14 when I was raped, and from the rape.. I obtained HPV. It wasnt detected right away, and when I was 16 they did a pap smear and found it. By that time, they determined I had three kinds. 2 which did nothing to me, and one that caused cervical cancer. The cervical cancer kind has 5 levels.. CIN I, CIN II, CIN III, precancerous and cancerous. I at one point not by the age of 17 had CIN III EVENTHOUGH I was actively receiving medical attention with the matter. If it wasn't for the University of Chicago, and a very pretigious staff, I possibly could have had a dangerous cancer before I was even 18. So with all of that said, please, vaccinate your children. This vaccine didn't become available until one year after I was diagnosed with HPV. It could have saved me, and it may just save your childs life. Because once your child has HPV, the vaccine won't get rid of it, theres nothing you can do but go through very difficult procedures, that take a toll mentally and physically at a young age. You may not want your child to be sexually active whether its consented or not, but the likely hood of it happening is greater than your expectations. Dont be naive, don't have a blind eye towards it. I will carry this with me the rest of my life, don't burden your child with that possibility.
