one thing to take into consideration, is that yes, it is said that it may take 8 - 10 years to develope into cancer, but for me, in a matter of 2 years, I went from just abnormal stage one cells, to precancerous.. I luckily and with the help of God, my body was able to fight it off completely, and last time I had a pap smear it actually came back negative for HPV anymore. But my point is that you HAVE to be on top of your game when getting pap smears, because all it takes is for you to skip a year, and those cells can quickly change on you.
Yes, it is uncomfortable to have this preocedure done. But in the long haul it is soo worth it. And if it is not treated it can and will cause Cervical Cancer
I've had to have a colposcopy and it actually really hurt.
